VisitorStory
Features

Everything you need to see your site through your visitors’ eyes.

Replays, heatmaps, funnels and form drop-off, all feeding one short weekly list of what to fix. Every feature is on every plan, including the free one.

Session replay

Watch the visit, not a chart of it.

Every visit can be played back: the cursor, each click, every scroll and every change on the page, in order. The quiet stretches where someone wandered off are skipped for you.

  • Rebuilt from the page itself, not filmed, so it stays sharp and can’t see outside your site
  • Phone and tablet visits play inside a device frame at the size the visitor saw
  • A timeline marks the moments that matter: repeated clicks, clicks on things that do nothing, errors, people backing out
  • Find visits by device, where people came from, a page they saw, whether they bought, or whether they got frustrated, and save the filters you use often

Heatmaps

See what gets clicked, and what gets missed.

Pick a page and see it covered in where people clicked, where their mouse went, how far down they got and where they actually spent their attention. Phones and computers are kept separate, because they behave nothing alike.

  • Four views: clicks, mouse movement, scroll reach and attention
  • Drawn over a real snapshot of your page at the width most visitors used
  • Per page: how far people scroll and which parts never get seen

Funnels and forms

Find the step where people give up.

Set out the steps to a sale or an enquiry, like product, basket, checkout, thank you. We show how many people make it through each one, and let you watch the people who left at the worst step.

Forms get the same treatment field by field: which field people stop at, how long each one takes, which ones get filled in twice, and how many give up, without ever seeing what they typed.

  • Steps by page address, by a button click or by your own events
  • One click from a drop-off to the replays behind it
  • Phone visitors compared with computer visitors on the same steps

Weekly fixes

A plain-English list of what to fix, every week.

Every Monday we compare the past week with the one before and look for the problems that cost you visitors. Each one comes with what’s wrong, why it matters, what to try and a few replays that show it happening.

The same week is written up as a report with its own private link that you can send to your developer, your partner or your client.

What we look for

  • Buttons people click again and again because nothing seems to happen
  • Things that look clickable but aren’t, like a picture or a heading
  • Content most people never scroll down to, like reviews or a sign-up box
  • The step where people leave on the way to a sale or an enquiry
  • The form field where people give up
  • Errors that break the page for a share of your visitors
  • Slow pages, for the slowest quarter of visits
  • Phone visitors doing worse than computer visitors on the same steps
  • Pages that got worse after a change, and which day it happened
  • Pages that work unusually well, so you can send more people there

Ranked, not rationed

Everything we find is shown, labelled Urgent, Worth fixing or Nice to have, with the top three up front. Nothing is held back to keep you subscribed.

Checked, not congratulated

A problem is only marked Fixed when its number recovers and holds for about a week. If it comes back, it’s flagged as back.

A deeper look on request

Want more on one problem? Ask for a deeper look and a more thorough analysis digs into who it affects and why.

Health and live

One number to chase, and the people on your site right now.

Your site starts at a health score of 100 and loses points for each open problem, a little more each week it stays open. Fix things and it climbs back. The dashboard shows the last 30 days so you can see the trend.

Alongside it: how many people are on your site right now, this week’s numbers against last week’s, and a running count of the fixes you’ve made.
